Under general supervision, the campus police officer is responsible for providing law enforcement and protection services to the campus community. Provide general police services, emergency response, answer calls for service and provide other services in keeping with the mission and values of Case Western Reserve University and the Division of Public Safety. Exhibit a proactive, service-oriented approach to the provision of community-based policing services to the faculty, staff, students and visitors at the university
Investigate criminal and suspicious activity. Enforce federal, state, local laws and ordinances as well as university policies as required through arrest, summons, citation or other approved disposition.
The employee may be required to spend extended periods of time sitting, standing or walking and be able to bend, stoop, reach and run. The employee may be exposed to weather conditions including: heat, cold, wind, rain, snow and ice and be involved in physical confrontation and exposure to dangerous situations. The employee may be required to work extended hours.
